The snow resorts are not the only way to experience the snowy mountains. Try going backcountry in winter either on cross-country skis, alpine touring skis, split-boards or snowshoes. Backcountry adventures are the best ways to experience the beauty of the main range in winter. Going backcountry can be dangerous, so be sure to have all the correct safety information, gear and equipment. Otherwise book a tour with one of the local guiding companies such as K7 Adventures, who can design a mountain adventure to suit your needs.
